Small sunglasses
Very small sunglasses are a trend that is seen in the fashion picture time and time again. You might remember John Lennon's round, sunglasses from the 60s and 70s? Or maybe you've seen some of the celebrities in Hollywood walk down the red carpet with tiny sunglasses that barely cover their eyes? The trend applies to both men and women and we understand the hype, because the small glasses easily give you an ultra cool look. But remember that there are some things you should be aware of if you choose to jump on the trend. Find out more about the small sunglasses in our guide below.
Small sunglasses and the sun's rays
When you're looking for a new pair of sunglasses, one of the most important things is that they protect your eyes 100% from the sun's harsh rays. In order for your eyes to be fully protected, your sunglasses must have UV400 in the lenses. The reason for this is that UV400 means that the eyes are protected against all UV rays equal to or shorter than 400 nanometers. It covers all UVA and UVB rays from the sun. You can compare sunglasses to using sunscreen on your skin - so if you want to take good care of your body and your eyes, you should use both!
The challenge in using very small sunglasses is that only parts of your eyes are protected behind the lenses. It naturally depends on the size and shape of the sunglasses. If the alternative is not to wear sunglasses at all, then of course it would be better to wear small sunglasses than not to wear them at all.
Large sunglasses cover both your eyes and parts of your face, which is why you will be better protected from the sun's rays. Therefore, in our selection we also primarily have large or medium-sized sunglasses that can fully protect your eyes. Find out more about large sunglasses right HERE .
Who can use small sunglasses?
In principle, everyone can use small sunglasses – as long as you feel comfortable, you should probably look good too! Obviously, if you feel you have a big face, sunglasses can make it look even bigger. Here, larger sunglasses can be the way forward. Conversely, a small face might drown in a large pair of sunglasses, where a small pair of sunglasses will fit perfectly.
If you're also crazy about small sunglasses, we totally understand. They easily add a lot of coolness to every look - whether you go for the very narrow model or the small round one.
