Polaroid sunglasses - what are they? 

When sunglasses have polarized lenses, it means that they reduce glare from the sun. The glasses contain a filter which reduces reflections from the sun, which can contribute to disturbing the eye's field of vision. Many people are therefore happy to use sunglasses with polarized lenses when driving. Regardless of whether you choose sunglasses with polarized lenses or not, it is essential that your sunglasses also have UV400 in the lenses, so that your eyes are fully protected from the sun's rays. When your sunglasses have UV400, it means that they protect against all UV rays that are shorter than or equal to 400 nanometers - and this covers all UVA and UVB rays. 

How do polaroid sunglasses work? 

Polaroid sunglasses have received some kind of chemical treatment on the lenses, which means that they reduce glare and glare. It works a bit like if you had put a layer of film over the lenses of your glasses - which is of course completely invisible. The chemical treatment means that the light waves that enter and cause glare in your eyes are sorted out in the lens. Regular sunglasses still protect your eyes from harmful UV rays as long as they contain UV400. However, they will not be able to remove the glare in the same way. When you find that ordinary sunglasses can still help a little with the glare, it may be because, for example, they have very dark lenses. It can give you the feeling that the light is not so bothersome. However, the disadvantage of very dark glasses is that it can be difficult to orientate yourself as well as if the glasses were lighter. 

A better color contrast and clarity  

In addition to reducing glare and glare from the sun, sunglasses with polarized lenses can also help you experience a better contrast between different color shades. This may mean that you can better see the nuances when you are outside in nature. In addition, you will also find that the glasses' reduction in glare means that you get a better and clearer visual experience. This is because glare and glare do not interfere with your vision in the same way as when wearing regular sunglasses. 

Who needs polaroid sunglasses? 

There can be various reasons why you should choose to go for polarized lenses in your sunglasses.
